Team Summit – the inventors of Clockit
We are Summit, a branch of Young Enterprise from St Peter’s School, York.
Our organisation is made up of eleven enthusiastic year 12 students, who each bring different skills to the table. We are participating in the Young Enterprise flagship “Company Programme” for 15 – 19 year old students delivered over a period of 1 year. We are running a company for 12 months with help from business mentors.
Young Enterprise groups compete for a range of awards, receive certificates and celebrate their achievements with supporters and invited guests. Through this programme, we have been competing in the Young Enterprise “Company of the Year” national competition.
On the 26th April 2012, at the finals of the competitions that have been running in our county, North Yorkshire, we competed against other Young Enterprise groups, and we were judged to be the winning company for this county. We are now preparing to compete with the other counties in our region, Yorkshire and Humberside, for the regional award.
Our next competition is the Yorkshire & Humberside Regional Finals on 15th June at Sheffield University, followed by the UK National Finals on 2nd & 3rd July in London, when we make it.
Established in 1963, Young Enterprise is the United Kingdom’s largest business and enterprise education charity. Every year they help 250,000 young people learn about business and the world of work in the classroom under the guidance of volunteers from 3,500 local UK businesses. The “Company Programme” is just one of the many programmes available for Young People to learn about and experience running a business.
We are very grateful for all the support that we have received from our York business supporters on our journey.
